Greening Tanzania’s Gateways!
On Saturday, a powerful alliance for the planet took root at Kilimanjaro International Airport!

Tanzania Airports Authority Director General, Abdul Athumani Mombokaleo ACI Africa President Emmanuel Chaves, and ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci, joined ACI Africa Secretary General Ali Tounsi and key stakeholders-including the guest of honor, Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner MHE. Nurdin Hassan Babu-for a landmark tree planting event.

With support from Diamond Trust Bank, this initiative will see 5 million trees planted at all TAA-operated airports by 2030 a bold step to restore ecosystems, fight climate change, and leave a green legacy for future generations.

This celebration, held on the sidelines of the ongoing ACI Africa Conference and Exhibition being held in Arusha, comes as Kilimanjaro International Airport achieves Level 1 – Mapping under the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, marking a new era of sustainability and environmental leadership.
